LOOSE CHAIR RUNGS

When the rungs in your wooden chairs get loose, you usually try to glue them in place. This sometimes works for awhile but, this fix is never permanent. However, if you haven’t yet used glue, try dripping some “Anti-Freeze” containing glycol ( that’s the old anti-freeze) into the holes next to the rungs. Then clamp the legs tight and allow to dry overnight. In the morning the rungs will be tight and stay that way forever. If you have already glued the rungs and they came loose again, you must remove the glue so the anti-freeze can get into the wood or it won’t work. I’ve never tried the new biodegradable anti-freeze so haven’t any idea if it works or not. If you try it and it works, please let me know.
